I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house down.
The event is titled after the fable 'Three Little Pigs', where the one who has no time to sing and dance builds a house from red bricks. This evening event addresses the UK's housing crisis through performance and live art. Each work presents a unique aspect of what makes a human being human during the housing crisis in the United Kingdom: their relationship to domestic spaces, displacement, establishing roots in a foreign land, interacting with others, including mold and other species, working hard, British history facts, and experiences of homelessness. Our work ponders what it means to be human when renting a house or studio space is almost impossible. Responses to precariousness will be expressed through different behaviors and gestures. Additionally, we will bring stories from people who are not present in the gallery. Our goal with this program is to provide a different perspective on what it means to live in a precarious situation, and how to reflect on it.
